I love my tiny apartment. It is a space I can call my own, and a place where I can write without interruptions at whatever time strikes my fancy. At this time of year, it is a place where I can go crazy decorating for Christmas (yes, I am that person) and make cupcakes at midnight if I feel like it. Don't get me wrong - I love my home and family, but my apartment fills any additional voids (disclaimer: this is not a photo of my own apartment).
My Apartment (Day 20)
I am grateful for my apartment. It reminds me that I have one of life's essentials, even if it is nothing grand or fancy: a roof over my head and a clean, dry place to stay.
I am grateful for the freedom my apartment allows me. When I can come and go as I please, without having to worry about waking others up or keeping the kitchen 110% tidy, it makes some of the random daily chaos easier to manage.
Finally, I am grateful that having an apartment reminds me to be responsible. To better manage my finances (hey, I'm a twenty-something and it's not always easy), to keep the place clean, and to do all of those things that come with being a responsible adult.
Be grateful for the place you live.
