I feel bad for those who have a hard time finding the positivity in a difficult situation. Over time, this mentality can turn us into bitter people. Bitterness is a sign that there is negativity in your life, and as the weeks and years pass, it can be harder to break free of this mindset.
All the Silver Linings (Day 8)
Back in September, I wrote about how some people are disgruntled about the fact that I am (almost) always positive about everything. But I figure, why not be positive? There will always be people who put down others - and I will not be swayed.
I am grateful for the silver linings. Regardless of the situation, no matter how difficult, I can always find one. Moving to a new city? Focus on the opportunity to make new friends. Frustrated with your job? Quit it (something better always comes along).
These silver linings may not always have the result I am hoping for. They may not always be perfect, or even very large. But there is always one there. I am grateful for the treasure-hunt-like approach when looking for silver linings. If you think about it long enough, it isn't hard to find one.
Finally, I am grateful for the silver linings because they have taught me to be resilient. Sure, life gets tough. Things happen. But if we put our minds to it, we will always bounce back stronger.
What are the silver linings in your life?
